About Greenland Cruises

Ivik was born in Sisimiut and raised in Nuuk, where he has lived for more than 50 years. With deep roots in the local community, he founded Greenland Cruises in 2012.

The company initially focused on providing services to cruise ships calling at Greenland during the summer season. In 2020, Greenland Cruises expanded its operations to include guided boat tours using smaller vessels, offering visitors a more intimate way to experience the coastal environment.

Today, the company operates a fleet of six tour boats in Nuuk and employs 15 full-time staff locally.

Greenland Cruises is proudly 100% Greenlandic-owned—an aspect that holds significant importance to Ivik. From the outset, he has been committed to hiring locally, recognizing the vital role this plays in supporting the community and ensuring that economic benefits remain within the country.
